Royal British Legion Show Saturday September 2nd, Village Hall Many thanks to those who supported it this year. There was a splendid array of produce in spite of the unhelpful season. There was also a reasonable profit made which will go to help British Legion members in need. ALP Harvest Festival The retiring collections at the Harvest Festival services raised £200, which, along with the produce donated, has been sent to St Saviours Priory in Hoxton. Many thanks to all those who gave so generously. Gordon Brown Buffet Supper, Jenkins Farm Barn, Saturday 16th September Grateful thanks to Richard and Barbara Lindsay for their generosity, time and undoubted expertise. This highly enjoyable event was much appreciated by all who attended and church funds benefited by (at the time of going to press) £565. Thanks also therefore to all who supported this venture. September Club We had a very enjoyable day at Ely on September 7th. We were joined by members of the Friendship Clubs at West Bergholt and Fordham. The weather was kind and we savoured the beauties of Ely Cathedral and the interesting old town. At the AGM on 13th September Jean Smith and John Lynch were re-elected Secretary and Treasurer respectively and Audrey Pells replaced Rene Brazier as Chairman. Audrey Pells . Disco at the Crown in aid of the School 28 August A good crowd turned out for what was by all accounts a very enjoyable evening which raised a large sum (several hundred pounds but Michael isnt telling yet!) to help the school building appeal. Well done to Michael and Kelly! and thanks to all those who donated prizes for the raffle and helped in other ways

There will be an annual membership charge £10.00 in advance per child (which can be paid £2.50 per quarter) and a weekly payment of £1.00 per session. The cost has been kept to the minimum but is necessary to cover the costs of hall hire, equipment and future events (such as Christmas party and hopefully a Summer outing to a destination mutually agreed by the children). The youth club is entirely run by volunteers and any adult help you could offer would be gratefully received even if it is only once or twice a year. Or it may be you have some old but complete childrens board games, puzzles, art & craft equipment or toys you could donate - again these would be gratefully received.
